R&D / Design Strategies

In order to provide the best and sustainable service to its guests and to gain competitive advantage, Özdilek closely followed the technological developments and strengthened its projects and processes with these developments. Continuing its work with an innovative perspective, Özdilek restructured the information technologies department in 2011 in order to adapt to the developing world more easily. As a result of the studies, it is aimed that the information technologies department will offer sectoral solutions not only to Özdilek Group, but also to Turkey and the world.

The short, medium and long-term strategies determined in line with all these studies are as follows:

Short-Term Strategies:

  • Generally accepted global software
  • to make cooperations with Bursa Technical University and Uludag University; 2 TUBITAK project applications to produce commercializable projects by receiving academic consultancy services in the fields of artificial intelligence, machine learning, blockchain, augmented reality and data mining .
  • To include undergraduate students in production within the scope of Vocational Education Program in Business by signing an Education and Cooperation protocol with Bursa Technical University.
  • Establishing permanent and value-added academician collaborations according to the scope of our projects; Planning training on machine learning and artificial intelligence in order to increase the knowledge and experience of the personnel and the company, Participating in events and international scientific journals with papers and articles,
  • Working to increase the number of qualified R&D personnel:
    • The number of basic sciences and engineers among the total R&D Center employees is 80%,
    • The ratio of the number of personnel applying or completing a master's degree to the total number of personnel is at least 20%,
    • At least one person applying to a doctoral program.
  • Providing memberships to scientific databases; researching current technologies and articles in the literature studies of projects,
  • allocation of training budget for R&D Center personnel; Supporting the participation of personnel in R&D, Innovation and Technology Management training to increase their awareness.

Medium-Term Strategies:

  • As much as possible in all studies, using domestic resources and working with new technological devices and hardware,
  • Increasing the share of products and services in the foreign market with the developed R&D Center projects, increasing customer satisfaction and making business processes more efficient,
  • Employment of postgraduate / doctorate personnel in the R&D Center and determining the thesis topics of the personnel among the ongoing projects of the R&D Center, presenting a paper or publishing an article from the project outputs.
  • Qualified R&D Center increasing the number of staff;
    • 20% postgraduate employment,
    • 5% employment of employees with a PhD.
  • Making patent and utility model applications from R&D project outputs,
  • Developing cooperation with R&D Centers; making joint project applications,
  • ensuring the sustainability of the incentive mechanism established for R&D Center personnel; 
  • International ITEA, Celtic Plus, ICT etc. Participating in the project markets event, meeting with stakeholders to develop a joint project.
  • Ensuring sustainable operability by completing domestic sales/marketing and after-sales support processes

Long Term Strategies:

  • To use domestic resources at the highest possible rate in all works, to expand the staff in order to work with new technology devices and hardware, and to design and develop own hardware solutions within 5 years,
  • Increasing the rates of international patent and utility model applications and commercialization of patents,
  • Diversification of university and industry cooperation; machine learning, data analysis, etc. providing on-site lectures to university students in technical fields.
